• SUPERDANK – out now

Lo Five is as proud as he is anxious to present SUPERDANK, a CD album packed to the green gills with heavy dubs for sleepy schlubs.

SUPERDANK is ostensibly presented as a collection of hardware stoner jams, structured in the form of an hour long edible-induced psycho-narrative, taking the listener on an aural voyage – kicking off at pleasant buzztown, calling past existential paranoiaville, then landing back in the relative safety of sofaborough in time for tea and crumpets.

But what is SUPERDANK? What does it mean?

If we were were inclined to illustrate the vibe, we’d say it’s along the lines of:

    • Forgetting you had an A-level exam because you were busy making the world’s largest hash brown

    • Having a panic attack in the shower because you couldn’t gauge how hot the water was

    • Claiming to have invented the story to The Matrix before watching The Matrix

    • Using the pages of a bible for cigarette paper after running out of Rizlas

Is SUPERDANK a flimsy concept designed to package a bunch of disparate tracks we weren’t sure wether to release or not? Or is it more of a subconscious collective fugue state, woven into the very fabric of our confused mental substrate? Maybe it’s both? Who cares?

In either case draw the blinds, turn off your mobile and settle in for a trip you’ll potentially regret forever, because it’s time… for SUPERDANK

Lunar Module is thrilled to present the latest album from Wirral based sonic alchemist Neil Grant, better known as Lo Five – a record that feels like it was beamed in from a parallel dimension where melody and madness hold hands.

In an era dominated by algorithmic predictability, Lo Five remains that rarest of artists: a producer whose music is unashamedly strange yet somehow impossibly tuneful. It’s the sound of a Commodore 64 dreaming it’s a jazz orchestra, or a broken music box trying to remember a rave from 1993 – familiar enough to hum along, alien enough to make the hairs on your neck stand up in delighted confusion.

Beyond the speakers, Neil Grant is a quietly heroic figure in the UK electronic underground. The time he pours into supporting fellow artists – organising events, mentoring newcomers, championing overlooked talent – make him as vital a community builder as he is an innovator in the studio.

This new Lo Five album is more than a collection of tracks; it’s a reminder that electronic music can still surprise, unsettle, and seduce in equal measure. It’s strange. It’s tuneful. It’s essential.

  • Emotion Wave is back

    Emotion Wave flyer

Hi friends. After a completely necessary hiatus, I am very pleased to say Emotion Wave is back on track. Happening in the cosy confines of @communeliverpool on Thursday 4th December, we are so _so_ happy and lucky to be welcoming the following local artists:

    Beau Beamont // @beausoundart
As a multidisciplinary artist, techno and experimentalism are at the core of Beau Beaumont’s artistry. Whether she’s meticulously curating DJ sets for her NTS Radio residency, defying the norms with electrifying live performances, running one of the UK’s most influential parties, or strategically approaching sound design for sync, what sets this artist apart is the ability to combine mediums with ease.

    S. Fearon // @spfearon
    S. Fearon is a musician and producer from Liverpool who has no set genre or instrumentation. His music in other projects has been compared to Scott Walker, Throbbing Gristle, Talking Heads, Lou Reed and Merzbow. The current iteration of S. Fearon is primarily focused in industrial, electronica, folk and black metal. This depends on the location, time of year and audience.

    //Lo Five
Lo Five is the experimental melodic ambient handle of Neil Grant, a Wirral-based musician who weaves elements of ambient, electronic/acoustic, field recordings, new age and early rave into fragmented and textured melodic soundscapes ,expressed through the lens of secular spirituality and emotional archaeology — exploring consciousness, memory and perception through sound.

We also have excellent human and good mate Dom behind the decks, weaving all this magic together until midnight. Hopefully see you there xoxo

Advance tickets on sale now for £8.50 or £10 OTD

  • Out now – 𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙚𝙠.

Emotion Wave is very proud to present 𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙚𝙠
…a zesty and flavoursome casserole that celebrates both the essence and the evolution of breaks. The familiar snap of breakbeats is flipped, stretched, mangled, and recontextualised – resulting in progressive forms of jungle, breakcore, ambient meditations, post-club mutations, glitch and lo-fi soundscapes that barely resemble the source material. 𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙚𝙠. is a love letter to the break and a challenge to what constitutes the genre.

Huge thanks to all the artists who contributed: Panamint Manse , Gordon Chapman-Fox, BUNKR, Afternaut, ARMATURES, Simon Heartfield, fourfourfun, Jez Thelwell, The Projektionist , Basic Design, Sulk Rooms, Secret Nuclear, this occasional society, Subordinate Clause, Bit Cloudy, Scholars of the Peak, Megaheadphoneboy, Shuttered Lines, Roland Prague, mausoleumclub and EXHERMITT

  • Levitation Festival 2025

I’m extremely happy to say I’ll be playing Castles in Space’s Levitation Festival this year – taking place at the Capstone Theatre in Liverpool, on Saturday 1st November.

There’s a slight changeup this year, apart from the new location, it’s happening over one day rather than the usual full weekend – the lineup is condensed goodness though, have a look at this:

Hopefully see you there. Tickets are on sale now: https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Liverpool/The-Capstone-Theatre/Levitation-25/41011976/

  • Birmingham x

Had such a great time at The Seventh Wave festival in Birmingham last week – all the sets were incredible and it’s not oftem you get to play a lineup with your favourite people. Massive thanks to Chris and Tony for putting it all together, here are a few snaps for posterity…

  • Music for Meditation – with LA French

It’s been a while since the last session but I’m finally getting Music for Meditation going again. The first two sessions, featuring long time pals Polypores and Field Lines Cartographer, went so so well – but I wanted to take a bit of break from events, mainly so I could concentrate on making music – also the idea of lying down on the floor during winter didn’t feel right somehow.

Anyway, we’re back on track and very lucky to be welcoming another long time friend of Emotion Wave, Luke French AKA LA French. If you haven’t heard Luke’s music before get yourself acquainted – it’s a warm, soft embrace of jazz/hip hop/textures that would fit right into a Worldwide FM ambient mix.

Also joining us is our regular meditation guide, Anthony Bennett. Anthony has a lot of experience leading secular mindfulness training sessions for various institutions and charities – so we’re very much approaching this from a non-religious / western science approach, in case anyone was worried.

Come and joing us on 2-3pm on Saturday 12th April at 24 Hope Street, in the upstairs studio 2. There are padded mats across the floor and some seats at the back so you don’t need to bring anything along to get comfy and zone out [or in], but you’re obviously welcome to bring your own cushions, mats, meditation bench etc.

  • The Seventh Wave Festival of Electronic Music

Very much looking forward to playing The Seventh Wave festival of electronic music next month [2nd March] at The Castle and Falcon in Birmingham. This’ll be the second airing of my new live set, so basically I’ll be playing most of Aspirant live – which I thoroughly enjoyed at the wonderful Hymns for Robots the end of last year.

Last year’s Seventh Wave all-dayer was an a ton of fun and the lineup for the day I’m playing this year is just as excellent. Check it out: Apta, Polypores, Field Lines Cartographer, Sulk Rooms, Kylie Monologue and Cholly. The best people and very dear friends. I hope you can join us x
