Emotion Wave was founded in 2015 by Neil Grant AKA Lo Five, as a Liverpool based showcase for grassroots experimental / electronic artists, leading to the discovery of a healthy underground scene of like-minded artists and music lovers.
The showcase night format evolved over time, resulting in all-day events, a regular radio slot on Melodic Distraction and more recently, the Music for Meditation series which brings together live ambient music and guided mindfulness meditation sessions.

Many friends of Emotion Wave have since released music via Emotion Wave and have contributed to the many charity compilations in support of Liverpool charities such as Whitechapel, James Place, Comics Youth and Merseyside Domestic Violence Service, to name a few.
In addition to releases on Emotion Wave, Neil Grant continues to make music as Lo Five and Her Majesty’s Coroner for Wirral, releasing music on labels such as Castles in Space, Waxing Crescent, Upitup, Miracle Pond and Patterned Air.
